Snowed In!

Angfand grunted. "Well, I reckon if you want to dry yourself off you could do worse than to sit near the fire." He put an empty bowl upside-down on the floor near the fireplace. "You can sit on that."
Njall looked at the larger of the two new guests. "Going? Out there? I hope you are either very tough or very lucky. The pass has closed up now."

Could I add someone else besides charlie?

Sure!

I nodded gratefully, looking up at the girl.

"Could you put me down, please?"

I didn't exactly want to explain the whole 'my wings are frozen' thing, but it was unavoidable to have to ask for help. I didn't exactly want to jump down and break something.

"Oh yeah, sure," I said. I walked over and set her gently down on the bowl before turning around and heading for the door again. "Okay, bye now!"

I waved in her direction, spreading my wings the best I could as I turned my back towards the warmth.

"Good luck finding your person," I said, smiling just a little.

I was inside a building, away from the snow, and in the human world. It was enough to ease even my normally foul mood.

"Stop!" called out Njall. "I wouldn't just walk outside if I were you. At least take a cloak or something."

I was about to thank the Fay when the first guy talked.

"Oh, thanks, but it's okay," I told him. "Temperature means nothing to me."

Njall shrugged. "Well, if you're sure. We still have food and drink here, though. Enough to last until the pass opens again."
"Let her walk out and freeze," said Angfand. "One fewer mouth to feed."

"Hey," I said, narrowing my eyes. "I wasn't kidding. Watch." I walked over to the fire and stuck my hand in. "See? Nothing!"

Warren

We've been stumbling through the snow for miles. And I swear my fingers are near frozen in my leather gloves.

Is that a cabin? My friend, Raphaël, thinks to me.

It does seem to be, I reply, Let's go there. Maybe they will give us shelter.

We move as swiftly as possible at the prospect of warmth. Once we reach the door, I hesitate, glancing at my friend. His blue eyes are the only thing visible, his black cloak tucked around him like mine. I can see a wisp of his blonde hair though.

Go on! Be quick about it! I'm freezing! He urges, and I lift my hand and rap on the wooden door.

Charlie

One minute I was at Starbucks, the next I'm in a blizzard. I blink, surprised. My teeth chattering due to the cold and I pull my jacket closer, seeking any possible warmth. There's a figure in the distance, a person on a horse and I cry out to them.

"HEY! CAN YOU HELP ME?!"

I jumped to my feet on the bowl, even more astonished by her hand not burning than I had been by the lack of cold earlier. My wings fluttered lightly, an indication of my nerves at her choice of how to convince them.

"That's..."

A knock came from the door causing me to frown. Didn't we already have enough big people? I highly doubted that any little people like me would be able to make a knocking noise that loud.

Angfand stormed over to the door and threw it open. "I reckon you'd best come in," he said, glaring.
Njall's eyes grew wide. "That's fantastic! How on earth do you do that?"

"It's a natural ability," I said, taking my hand out of the fire again. "Comes from being attuned to my connection with my soul. Anyway, I really have to find my friend, so bye! For real!" I started heading for the door again, my cat following after.

Njall's face fell. "Well, take care of yourself. If your friend can't do the soul thing, we'd be happy to help."
Angfand simply growled quietly.

"Well, he can," I started, "but the thing is, he may be hurt or unconscious... Actually, he probably is unconscious, seeing as he hasn't reported yet... The soul thing still works even if you're asleep, but..."

Njall raised an eyebrow. "You'd best be on you way then. Look after yourself."
Angfand knelt down next to the fay. "So what's with the wings?"

"Thanks!"

I headed out the door and back into the storm.

Warren

"thank you," I say, moving quickly inside. Raphaël follows silently behind.us he seems pleasant, he grumbles telepathicly.

Angfand snorted. "Ain't a problem. You want mutton stew?"

I frowned a little, fluttering them some more. They were working slightly better.

"Well, snow isn't exactly my best friend," I grumbled, watching the new comers. "Or any sort of water. Makes flying difficult."

Angfand snorted again. "Well, looks like you're ground-bound here, then. If you want to dry off you can stick close to the fire. Don't try any magic on me, though. I'll be watching."
"Leave off, Angfand. Our guests wouldn't be so ungrateful for our hospitality. I think we've got some spiced wine somewhere..." Njall continued poking around in the storeroom.

Warren

"Yes, Zank you," Raphaël nodded at the offer of stew.

I remove my hood, moving closer to the fire. "We have money, if not much but we can pay." I say to our hosts. Raphaël moves closer to the fairy, crouching before her and looking at her curiously without bothering to move his hood,

"Thanks," I told our hosts, giving a slight nod at the magic statement. "I wouldn't do that, it'd be rude."

Besides, I rarely did magic unless it was a life or death situation, which, at the moment, this was not. I turned my attention to the new comer as he approached me.

"What the lady do you want?" I asked, staring at the hooded guy and keeping my tone even as well as friendly as possible. My wings were starting to thaw out, I could feel them fluttering behind me.

Raphaël

"Sohrry, Eet's not evehry day you see a fahrey. My name ees Raphaël." I say, removing my hood and scarf. I offer a finger to her politely. "And your's?"
